dirtydaveW new turbo header flanges :)

Figured I'd post up some pics of the flanges I made for Dave.

He wanted the SBC port with LT1 bolt pattern and 1/2inch thick so here they are!

I designed them and had a friend cut them as I dont run a CNC anymore.

Jay

PS sorry there blurry i took them with my blackberry haha

Nice! Actually, on a standard LT1 head, the lower part of the flange would expose a gap. When Jon (Realquick) originally made my current hotside, he used a flange like this but found out from another customer that the flanges wouldn't seal on a stock LT1 head. I sent it back to Jon and he filled in the flange holes on the bottom and sent them back (no charge. Jon's a stand up guy). The heads I'm now using (Canfields) have a flat surface and will seal fine.
My Ported Stock LT1 Head, Exhaust side:

Notice the formed area around the bottom of the port and how it drops away after the sealing rim?

Contrast with the flat face of the Canfields Exhaust side...

These may fit... the ones I used previously were oval holes that hung down low... yours appear to be round holes on Jay's set. Jay, how far down does the port hang (dimension from bolt hole to bottom of round port)?

Also, these look like 1 5/8 holes? If so, you may want to port the inside of the flange to blend more with the exhaust port

Jon,
Go here and then look at the pic's in post 110. That's the basis on which I decided to go with his flanges.

Just from eyeballing, it looks like they would be OK. my old ones from B&G hung lower than that.

sorry guys I have been moving all weekend and the internet isnt transfered yet haha

these will work on a stock head also. the 1 5/8 port swallows the D port no problem.

Here is the pic that dave linked to.

If you are interested in a set just send me a PM. I can make them in whatever thickness you want. I did mine 3/8, and dave 1/2 inch.

Jay

This pic is on my ported AFR 195's

Just got the flanges this morning. Man... these things look so good it's almost a shame to put them on the motor where they won't be visible. Thanks!
