Attention: Anyone who purchased from "All-Ignition"
If you have purchased an opti from this seller and had negative experience please give me your name, address, and contact number, and a detailed description of your problem, such as if you had to be towed, paid for repairs, or lost time from work etc. . I am seriously going after them and have a possible class action lawsuit against them. I cannot do it without your help. In addition to receiving justice we can shut them down from selling on Ebay! You should have some form of receipt or transaction that took place between you and them to qualify. As of right now I am negotiating with Ebay to stop the seller! If they do not produce any results then I will fire away!

I have already forwarded this to IC3, BBB, CPA, and my Attorney General. Hopefully you will find them to be as intangible as I was. I merely stated the fact that I purchased an illigitimate item marketed by a seller that is still listing and selling on your site. Talk in all the circles you want to, your chance to resolve this civily has far been passed over. Basically what you have told me here in plain text is that what I have had to say and complain about legitimately is not your problem. We will see about that now won't we.
Sincerely,
Jack
Nice to know Ebay doesn't give a rats *** about this issue lol, I'm bringing the house down!

Update:
On October 02, 2008, the business provided the following information:
As we stated before, a full refund is simply just not an option as the part is no longer brand new or in a condition to be resold and more than 90 days have passed since the original sale date. At no time in our ebay selling history have we ever flat out refused a refund for an item less than 90 days old, regardless of condition. We have informed buyers that partial refunds are available, which many buyers have turned down and chosen the replacement part option instead. Also it is important to note that the unit was not installed by a professional mechanic as indicated in our terms and conditions, which can adversely affect the function of the part and has been the cause for many distributor failures in the past. Regarding your claim of the part being a counterfeit, the part was advertised exactly using the information given to us by the part manufacturer at that time, and in no way was intended to scam or mislead customers in any way, shape, or form. We have been selling this part for the last year without incident and our advertisements are accurate with concern to the part manufacturer. We cannot attest to the comments listed in forum posts online without confirming that their part was purchased from our company, but we can say with absolute certainty that the comment regarding the refund which took a year is 100% false, the only part that was true was the threatening letter. We would like to resolve this matter with you amicably and highly encourage you to first send the part back to us for defect evaluation. Once the part is received by us we can proceed with discussing with you your options for resolution as our return policy requires. To send the part back, please visit www.allignition.com and click on the returns link. Feel free to contact us anytime Monday to Friday 11am-4pm PST if you have any questions.

The ad clearly stated "OEM LT1 OPTI SPARK DISTRIBUTOR 95 96 97 CORVETTE CAMARO" I have in front of me the copy of the winning auction that states just that. The product is in no way shape or form OEM.OEM defined = ORIGINAL Equipmant Manufacturer, which in this case is/was AC DELCO. The PN that is etched into the housing is an AC Delco number, the unit is not. Many folks were upset when they received theirs it had a black cap on it, mine had the correct color cap filler in an attempt to make it look more legit. Had I contacted you from day one the result would be the same. I have a list of names and we are coming after you and your scam company, period. I gave you an opportunity to resolve this civily at which time you tried to say this was a rare occasion. Secondly what makes you think for an instance I am not a professional mechanic? Why would you try and bribe the forum owners and administrators to remove my posts? Your sponsorship fee is much less valuable than my PROFESSIONAL knowledge in the field of LT1 motors and such equipped cars. Nice try though and yes your call was documented and registered. You can argue and verify all you want, you know you sold them, you knew they were counterfeit, you are a fraud! Your products have a long recorded history of failure, your "customer service" is exactly what I have been experiencing, a fight. I have their names, addresses, and recorded purchasing history from your company. I also have available to me all the distributors in question. I have recorded timelines of defective products that were sent in for "evaluation" by you or whomever it is that determines why they failed, some have been just inside a year, but the average is a two month turnaround. Is that any kind of way to leave someone? Two months without a running vehicle because you want to see what you have seen over and over? I can tell you where the problem is, the units do not have a Mitsubishi optical sensor, and there was a low quality control at the assembly plant as most have residue on them from straight out of the box.I do not know what your circumstances are, I do not care! You may have had the wool pulled over your eye's and got stuck with a lot of bad product, but the fact that you continue to sell them and act ignorant to the fact that they are defective really appals me.What is worse is the "return" policy you have, which by the way I am also aware of. You offer a "performance" brand for double the costs of a Genuine piece. The piece you want to send me in return is going to be the same POS you mailed in the first place, and you sir are nuts if you think I am going to put that on my car a second time!I want a full refund, period. If you want the product back you can mail me a prepaid shipping label and I will return it in full. It will also be documented. I can assure you that I am not someone trying to get something for free. I just want my money back so that I can buy another "GENUINE" article elsewhere. As I told the CSR at Ebay I am not threatening, I am promising resolution. Why do I have to be the bad guy here? That is your options, there is nothing to talk about.
Sincerely,
Jack

I don't think you're going about this the right way. Do you have an attorney? You should, at the very least, have an attorney review all correspondence. Statements like "we are coming after you and your scam company, period" are meaningless and immature. They encourage the company to ignore you or not take you seriously.
Also, as far as I know, parts labeled OEM are generally understood to meet the same specifications as the original equipment. I don't think they have to be made by the same manufacturer.

I find it odd that you see it as meaningless and immature. He utilized the words OEM (ORIGINAL EQUIPMENT MANUFACTURER) and furthermore the manufacturer AC DELCO. The part has a cross referenced AC Delco number etched into it. It doesn't get any more obvious than that IMHO.
That's not what I said. Read carefully.
However, I do think it's immature to end your sentences with "period".
I understand all of that. I still think that, if the part he is selling meets all of the same specs as the AC Delco part, he is within his rights to call it OEM. He should be up front about the actual manufacturer if asked, and that is all.
Is the opti you bought from him not functioning as expected, or is the problem just that it's not made by AC Delco?

OEM's are the industry's brand name auto manufacturers, such as General Motors, Ford, Toyota, Volkswagen, etc. The OEM definition in the automobile industry constitutes a federally-licensed entity required to warrant and/or guarantee their products, unlike "aftermarket" which is not legally bound to a government-dictated level of liability.
OEM also applies to a multitude of licensed component manufacturers, such as Bosch, BBS, NGK, Pagid, Ferodo, etc. While these meet the industry definition of OEM, they are frequently called OEM Suppliers within the industry to prevent confusion with the automobile brand names. Identical products, such as spark plugs, may be supplied through official franchised dealers in appropriately branded packaging (Volkswagen, General Motors, etc). The same product may be supplied through general auto retail outlets (in the UK - Halfords, A1 Motor Stores, etc), or 'trade' motor factors (UK - Partco, Euro Car Parts, APD) in the manufacturer's original branded packaging.
OEM also refers to brands of components that an automaker uses in their particular vehicles. For instance, Mark Levinson audio is used in Lexus vehicles. Also, major tire manufacturers (Michelin, Bridgestone, Goodyear, etc.) produce a line of OEM tires that are factory-installed as standard equipment on many vehicles; these companies also produce other more expensive series of tires for motorists that want higher performance.

To me in this context, OEM means that the part supplied would be the same as if I went to a Chevy dealer and ordered it. While I not doubting the OP, nothing he has said addressed what is different about the part from "OEM". Anyway, I wish him luck.

Plus pretty much anybody who claims on an internet forum that he is going to start a class action lawsuit isn't to be taken seriously...
JakeRobb yes I have mentioned what the differences are from factory, and in this particualar letter it states the optical sensor as being the culprit. In addition to that many of the units came fitted with brass terminals, all of the seals on them are hideous at best, the drive is one piece and not removeable as the oem is.
The problem is this, I bought one when a thread came out here about the 149 ebay opti, search for the thread, actually I have it listed in this thread
As I received mine posts started appearing about them being defective. I did not immediately install mine as my motor was currently being built. In the meantime I picked up a formula and it needed an opti and I just happened to have that one laying around so I took the gamble and it bit me in the ***, left me stranded along a desolate country road in 98* heat! I then contacted this comapnay at which time they told me they have never had any problems with these units, mine was the rare occasion, and thats when I called him out. Ever since he has been wiggling his way out of the situation and I have unleashed the dogs on him, thats what I do. Period means end of discussion, I mean business. I didn't threaten him I made him a promise and I have followed through with it this far. If he so chooses we can take it to any level he wants to. I do not let anyone person or company push me around, I am a nice guy and laid back, but I have a spine and I will tell them whats up! I also have the resources capable of pulling this off and standing up for myself and my fellow LT1 enthusiasts if they so choose to be with me. So far I have nearly two dozen names and addresses and defective parts from 3 sites alone. I haven't found the need to get any further. Some of which actually paid $1500.00 in additional parts and labor to have this thing installed, then get stranded as I was and have to be towed home. I also had to be towed and missed work and was not able to pick my son up from school. So yeah I am a little huffy about all of it when all he ever had to do was refund the money and send a shipping label.
As for Steve9899 all I have is my word, if I say I am going to do it I follow up on it brother. For now it is what it is. I am trying to pave the way for myself and these fellow members to get their money back so that they can get a suitable unit. As it sits all he wants to do is send us another one. judging by all accounts will be just as defective and non oem as this one was.
I am not trying to crash your forum! I respect each and everyone of you, I know my post count is not high here, partly due to the fact that many of you receive the advice I could or would give by others, partly because my home site is elsewhere, but I am regular here and on tech as well, but I call z28.com home. I respectfully asked before I ever posted this thread and I promised and continue to promise that I will keep all updated. If you purchased one and it failed contact me!Thanks!
