Engine swap

I'm looking at swapping out my LT1 to an LS7 crate engine. Has anyone here done a lsx swap before, and if so what parts were needed to complete the conversion? Some here on the board has given me some insight as to some of the parts I would need, such as a new K member, flexplate and of course a new wiring harness. Also were there any major problems associated with an LT1/LS1 swap?

Of course, you will also need a computer to run it.

If I remember correctly you'll have to do something with the hood, maybe the lsx hood sits lower than the lt1 hood, maybe the other way around.

An older issue of GMHTP did an LS7 swap into a 4th gen. It may be worth a shot to go to their site and see if you can pull up the article, it goes over everything that is needed.

besides the computer, and all the small stuff....dont you also have to figure out a way to route the dry sump?

and in all honesty...all that work and money...for 505hp at the crank??

a forged 402 or 408 with budget heads and a small cam (make it drive like a puppy) will yeild that. with a little more in the heads or a bigger cam and you're over 500rwhp.

look at what Kraest is running....small cam in his 408 and he's putting out like 530rwhp.

i guess if you have the time and money....and want the prestige...
