died while driving?

i was on the highway doin a steady 75 mph, then all of a sudden the car just shut down and wouldn't start back up. when the car is in the on position you can hear the fuel pump kick on so i think it's gettin fuel. Would it be the ignition modual? or the coil?

Thank you

Andrew

Did you scan it for codes?

Might also be a problem with the resistor in your ignition key if you've got one that is

Sometimes they stop working or stop working right . . . not sure how you'd test for that other than replacing the ignition key . . . or do you have another key that you could try?

You really need to post more information. Scan it for codes, test for fuel pressure, verify the battery is fully charged, etc. All we can do is speculate.

The battery was/is still charged. When i was on the side of the road it wouldn't start back up, it'd crank over but not fire, the radio and all the gauges would still come on. i haven't had it scanned for codes yet. And i haven't checked for fuel pressure yet. Thanks

You'll have to scan it for codes and check for fuel pressure.

Well i also failed to mention that i had the car scanned two weeks ago when a cooling line dripped coolant all over everything and i had a new opti installed. but nothing showed up but a crankshaft sensor. So i maybe put 30 miles on the car since then, and it dies when i try to make a 225 mile trip. So maybe i fried the ignition modual when the opti went out? idk though.

Thanks

So is it possible that when the opti went out it took the ignition modual too?
