Times for 97 Z28 A4, seems kinda slow???

Heres the lowdown on my car.
97 A4
3.23 gears
all the options
SLP CAI
50k miles
cheap Futura street tires
I was running 3/4 tank of gas, the weather was in the low 70's high 60's, humidity around 45-50%

1st run was a wash, no burnout, i stalled to a little over 1k rpms & let off the bake.
It started to spin bad so i let off till it hooked then went WOT

1st run "we wont count this one"
60 2.544
330 6.582
1/8 9.794
mph 77.04
1000 12.560
1/4 14.902
mph 96.45

On the 2nd run a friend told me to do a small burntout, just enough to clean the tires, put my foot on the brake & launch off idle.

2ND run
60 2.167
330 6.133
1/8 9.350
mph 76.89
1000 12.121
1/4 14.466
mph 96.24

The MPH seems kinda low, i was expecting 99-101mph & i was expecting a 14.1 or 14.2 at least.
Maybe i had too much weight in fule, maybe i cant drive LOL?
Also the 1st owner of this car was a old guy, who never beat on it, just knda drove it when it, wasnt sitting in the carport.
I was told to rest my computer so the car will adjust the fule curve to my driving style or is that just a bunch of voodoo???

Heres a kinda cool side not to all this, on the 2nd run I ran a fully restored 77 Z28 with a rebuilt 350 sporting a mild cam, 30 over, headers, holly carb & flowmasters.
It sounded really mean, thought i was gonna get stomped, but i beat him.
My 14.4 at 96 to his 15.4 at 88mph!

Numbers look about right to me - without any more info.

When my car still had 3.23's and only had a K&N filter (not a CAI) and Hypertech w/160 stat it was running 14.5's @ 94/95 mph. I ran with a full tank of gas and the temp & humidity was a little higher than what you ran in.

I think with some practice driving it will go a little faster. My car first time out with a Moroso CAI and a Flowmaster muffler went 13.90's@98mph. Keep practing. Later Clint
