Question Valve Adjustment Question

I have the Pro Mag lifter part number 875-16. No instructions came for how much preload. I called today and they told me 1/16 turn cold and it would be good, well that was too loose and so was 1/4 turn. Anybody know if 1/2 turn will hurt anything.

Re: Valve Adjustment Question

Did you give them time to pump up? No 1/2 turn is normal.

Re: Valve Adjustment Question

just checking, didn't want to mess anything up. Comp Cams said that 1/2 turn would be too much

Re: Valve Adjustment Question

1/2 turn on Comp R's is too much. Do a search, there were a couple of recent past threads documenting this.

Stick with the suggested pre-load that comp recommends.

Re: Valve Adjustment Question

yes, do you have stock lifters? For stock lifters 1/2 is about right... but if you have comp-r lifters then you should only go a max of 1/8 I have heard, and had best luck w/.

Re: Valve Adjustment Question

I have the Pro Magnum Hydraulic Roller Lifters. Here is the link to the website that I bought them from: HALFWAY DOWN THE PAGE

Like I said, they didn't come with specific instructions on how much preload. Plan on working on this tomorrow.

Re: Valve Adjustment Question

I went 1/8 turn past zero...3000 miles ago...Still no chatter, and I haven't touched them since.
