Low-end on a cc305
I did a search, and i didnt come up with any dyno graphs on the cc305 that the link still worked for. anyway, looks like im gonna be stuck gettin an emissions complient cam, and now what im looking for is something thats gonna give me some killer low-end, and also some very good top-end. i heard the cc305 is pretty close to what i want. I considered the hot-cam, but it looks like it is more peaky, and also it doesnt have as high lift and duration. I plan to do some head work as well.
questions:
anyone have a dyno graph with the cc305 on either stock heads, or ported?
What is the most RWHP i can reasonably expect of of a small cam such as this, with ported heads, full bolt-ons, etc. its through an Auto.
I would also like a cam that is lopey, but i know lopey and low-end torque/emissions complient dont go together. anyone know of a combo that can satisfy that requirement?
damn, i've been looking for a good power combo for a while, its so frustrating to keep going over different combos!!

LOL...I have a dyno graph, but you probably wouldn't want to see it. The important point is, with a stock bottom end, CC305, and ported heads, I'm running 12.05 @ 112 MPH...With a full-weight car. Best 60 ft. has been a 1.67 on ET Streets, and with 4.10 gears. Yes, the CC305 has some pretty good low end grunt, even with the ported heads, and 2.0"-1.56" valves.
For an idea of torque, look here http://www.geocities.com/max_wylde/cahallracing.html
This is a stock suspension car, launching at 1500 RPM's.

how would you compare the stock low-end, with the cam low-end? is there an actual improvement? or do you really feel it more in the upper ranges?

Not sure about frank...But in my car...It has great low end.....But it may have been my tranny acting up but once it hit 3rd gear it seems to not have the pull of say a larger cam.....But it still pulls pretty good for the size it is...

how does that thing sound with the true duals? can you hear any lope whatsoever? enough to tell its not stock? 12.5 with a stock stall is pretty good.
how do you like the powerband of the cam? before you put your stall in, how did the downlow torque around 1000-2000 rpms feel?
edit: looks like you responded before i could finish posting.
