after jacking up motor, oil pressure guage?

Hi, every time I jack up my motor my oil pressure guage is maxed out and wont move at all, makes me scared to drive it. Does anyone know what I did? It happened both times I took out my oil pan, which is why I have to raise the motor a little.
I am about to go fix the burnt plug wire (*$#@(*$&) and get this thing down the track...
so any advice is appreciated.

Check the wire on the oil pressure sending unit at the back of the intake. If it is loose/unhooked it will do that.

Also check to see if you broke the sending unit.
I broke mine while putting in the rebuilt tranny.
Its close to the firewall and if the engine tilts back it will break the sending unit.

What they said. I broke mine putting the motor in. It only has to be cracked a little bit so check it good.

The thing in the pan has NOTHING TO DO WITH YOUR OIL PRESSURE READING AT ALL, PERIOD.

Now then, your oil pressure sensor/sending unit are on the back of your intake.

You can always count on Shoebox to have a good photo of practically everything.

ok, I rewired that thing in that picture... or at least reconnected it to the right wire w/ a wire connector type deal.. does it have to be sodered together? we just used the wire connectors and clamped each side hard, and it doesnt seem to read right yet...

sorry for my newbieness, I thought that was what the sender unit was, but I thought we fixed it too...
