Cam Questions
Hello all,
I have a friend that has a 71 Firebird with a 350 Pontiac Block currently has the stock cam. He is thinking about getting an Edelbrock Performer RPM Cam with Spec:
Duration @ .050"
INT/EXH
.231/.240
Lift
INT/EXH
.470/.470
He would also change out his Manifold to an Edelbrock Performer RPM 1,500-6,500 PRM; keeping the Stock heads does anyone know how much he is looking to gain from this cam? I think the Stock Cam spec is: .376 Lift INT and .412 EXH
He is looking to get more of an aggressive sound and of Course better performance and reliability wise. Any info would be great. Thanks

that cam isnt going to give him alot more than stock. .470 .470 lift isnt alot, and probably wont sound radical at all. take a look at the Comp Cams website at http://www.compcams.com/Technical/DynoSheets/
i would prob. go w/ the XE284. it has decent lift, and still produces enough vacuum for power brakes. check it out
