A/C Compressor disengages when I hit 52 MPH and beyond?
Hi there,
I have a unique situation. It is hot in cali and I could use air on my commute. My 2000 Camaro Air Conditioning works until I am on the freeway and the mph exceeds 52 mph. You can feel the compressor turn off and on trying but blows hot air. When I get off and drive from the off ramp and lower mph it come on and blows cold. The freon is fine. I replaced the Hi/Low pressure sensor/switch.
Any Idea's?
Thank you so much!

Hi there,
Sorry it took so long but I could not log in for some reason but still have my problem!!!! If you mean the car fans where you turn on the console....yes. What happens is when I get to that speed or rpm it goes from blowing cold to hot and you feel the compressor going off. I now this is too weird???
Thank you and I can log on now luckily!

How can you tell its engaging and disengaging when you go over 52? Thats merely impossible to feel. a/c has nothing too do with how fast you go either, unless your just sitting around idiling than you would feel a diffrence. possible bad connection? It kinda sounds like your a/c system is freezing up. in that case it would freeze up, air couldn't go throught the condenser and cool off, thus warm air! that would be your Thermostatic Switch.
