95 computer in a 94?

Hey just as a quick question can i use a 95 harness and computer out of a trans am in my 94 z28. I only have the 2 fan relays but I figured with some slight modification I might be able to pull it off. Any input is much appreciated.

It can be done, but there are some wiring differences you will have to deal with. You can see them listed here.

Unless you don't have a 94 engine harness now, there is nothing to gain trying to use a 95 harness. Swapping the to the 95 computer is pretty easily done, though. You would need a 94 tune in it, if it is an auto.

Wouldn't you have to do a OBD II to OBD I conversion as well (knock sensor, etc.)

No.

Not sure why this keeps coming up. The 93-95 F-Body LT1's are ALL OBD-I. The 95 is a bit different because although it has an OBD-I PCM, it has a 16-pin OBD-II "style" ALDL connector. ONLY 96/97 are OBD-II

Oh okay I was just trying to see if I could do it because my mechanic told me to change the harness and computer and there was one on ebay. I needed to make sure that the fans and such would still work since the 94 I have only uses 2 fan relays and since the 95 harness has the c105 connector. But I think I'm just gonna keep looking for a 94 harness and computer. Thanks a lot guys.

Why do you have to change the harness and computer?

IF you already have a 94 harness in your 94 Z28, all you need to do is plug in the 95 PCM. Have the 95 PCM flashed with a 94 program. Both PCM's have two fan output signals (pins A10 and pins A11). Its the relay wiring that is different.

When someone asks what you are trying to do, you need to answer them, so they can understand your question better, and they can help you.
