California Waterblade???

What is everyones thoughts on these. I just bought one and it seems to do a very good job. Does it scratch or is it safe for our cars? Thanks.

It won't scratch unless something abrasive gets caught on it. Just like a towel or chamois, as long as there is no grit, it won't scratch.

Lightbulb

I used to use the CWB all the time on my old Camaro without any problems. I believe they are safe to use when used properly, but I just don't seem to need one any longer. I mostly use the Absorber and a Microfiber Waffle Weave towel and find this works great for me. I've still got my CWB, but it doesn't get as much use as it used too....

Hey Travis,

LoL, not to worry, the CWB works fine too. In fact I should be using it more often, but I like my Absorber and MF combo a little better. For more info look here: http://www.absorber.com/product.html

And for MF, here: www.microfibertech.com .....click on towels then it shows the detailing towels and waffle weave towels for drying. Their Big Blue towel works better for drying actually, but I use the Big Grey (the softest MF drying towel) for picking up any remaining water after using the Absorber. You can also read up on microfiber here: http://store.yahoo.com/classic-motoring/micprod1.html IMO their towels are waaaay overpriced when you can buy the same thing, or better, for much cheaper. Nevertheless, some good info to read.....

It does leave very light scratches. I have a black car and used it and over time the car had very light scratches on it. Almost like swirl marks excepth they were straight.

I would recommend it for any color that isn't real dark, or if you aren't too picky. It says it is 100% non abrasive but that is false.

It saves a lot of time though.

Water blade doesnt open up the wax on the car like a chamoi. Its fine if you only wash your car every now and again, but if you have a darker color car and wash it often it will start to show small straches in your paint. Personally once warm wheather comes around i generally dont wash the car unless waxing it is also in the forcast. And no that does not mean i wash it once a month. It usually gets washed and waxed about every 8-12 days.

Make sure your car is well hosed off before using a water blade, they can scratch if you get a piece of dirt under the blade.

I saw the CWB at Murray's for $20 and a cheap knock-off for $10, so guess what I got? I really like it, although it doesn't get all the water off. Maybe the CWB works a little better than mine, but I use my blade and a towel. It makes the drying off portion go a lot faster.

I got mine the other day too. I haven't had a chance to use it but it is good news that it works well. I was a little worried that I blew $20 hehehe
