What do you guys think of the California Waterblade?
What do you think of the California Waterblade for drying your car? Do you think it scratches the car at all? I used it on my beater car a few weaks ago and it dried the car really quick and nice, but the car already has so any scratches and swirls, I didn't see if any were from the waterblade...What are your opinions?

So chamois cloths are preferred? And after chamois, a little cotton towel? My '87 IROC only has about 9,000 miles and the paint looks great, but it does have it's swirl marks that hopefully zaino will take care of when I get the kit in.

The synthetic chamois are better. Just remember that the car must absolutely clean or the chamois will pick up any dirt and scratch the paint.
That said, I haven't used a chamois in over 10 years. If you have a good finish protectant on the car so it beads well, then just final rinse the car with a gentle stream of water, no splash or sprinkles. The majority of the water will run off. Open the hood an hatch part way to let any standing water run off, the close it up and towel dry. Takes two towels for me, one acts as a final dry.

I bought the California Water Blade for my last car (99 black Camaro) and when I first got it, the silicone blade was soft and pliable and it worked great, dried the car off, no scratching, no problems. About 6 months later, having been in my garage in between washings, the blade had become somewhat more brittle, and it definitely left scratches on my black paint. I quit using it. The Absorber chamois worked much better. No matter what you use, your car needs to be completely clean before you drag anything across it to dry it, period.
