Fitment/Clearance with Universal X pipe systems

What is the fitment like with a universal X pipe kit from either Summit or Jegs like? Take any modifying, etc.? Also, what does it do to your ground clearance? I will probably leave it dumped for now, but would plan to take it back over the axle... is one of these kits the way to go, or am I better off buying an X merge (such as the Magnaflow merge) and having someone fab the whole system for me?

My biggest concern is most of the shops here suck and there are no Fbody shops nearby. I refuse to have ****ty quality parts or craftsmanship on my car. Any input?

there really isn't an answer to that. the kits are a starting point. and take tweaking to get them right.

my biggest problem was getting the xpipe leg connected to the collector. i had to drop about 1" and then angle out so that it would line up.

its not gonna be a "hold it up and weld" job.

you can see how i had to do the collector, and you can see in the top-down pic the way the driver's leg has to be longer and angled in.

i used the summit x-pipe, and didnt have to do what he did. When we did it i had a 2 1/2" setup), we got 2 of us to hold everything up, then on the driverside we had to cut off a little bit, but everything welded right up
