throwout bearing, clutch master or froze pressure plate issue?

well tonight after leaving a car wash i let off the clutch to leave and hear a thud then the clutch pedal was hard and i heard the typical dreaded sound of the throwout bearing noise (like a hammering/loud humming type sound). i turn the car off and wait for a buddy. i pop the hood and damn it im low on clutch fluid when i just checked it a few days ago. so i go to start it for the tow home and her another thud and now my clutch pedal has nothing there. just drops straight to the floor. i replaced the slave cylinder and then found out i snapped the pushrod that connects to the clutch pedal and the master cylinder. my question is....is there anything else that could cause the clutch pedal to get that hard besides the slave/master cylinder? i really dont wanna have to pull the tranny

I had pretty much that same thing happen to me this afternoon my fiance's father says it sounds like a throwout bearing but that was without even seeing the car just an educated guess from what i told him so i guess im planning on replacing the clutch but if there could be something else going on ide certainly like to check it out b4 ripping out the transmission and putting a new clutch in my car was supposed to be for sale tomorrow so I wasn't really prepared to drop any more money into it but I'm going to have to drop the price quite a bit if it needs a clutch or towed so any help would be appreciated guys.

If the hydraulic line isn't releasing fluid when you push down on the clutch pedal, it will build pressure and cause the pedal to become hard after pumping the pedal a few times. Disconnect the hydraulic line, push in on the end of the quick disconnect fitting and see if fluid squirts out when you push in the pedal. If this works, it's probably you slave cylinder. To get to that, you'll have to remove the transmission. So from there, you might as well check out the pressure plate as well.
