Cutloose in 2ond @ 400 RPM

Hello
I have a 95 Camaro Z28 with the 4L60E.
Transmission was recently rebuilt. It worked fine for some time. Now it is cutting loose at about 4000 rpm in second gear and winds up to the rev limiter. When one backs off the gas it catches, but suspect it is in third by then. Part throttle it works great and at WOT it works fine in any gear by 2ond. Second gear overruns in manual second. Any ideas on what may be causing this? My understanding is the valve body plate was worn on the last rebuild and the check ball was able to pass through a hole that is was a ball seat. Forward clutch was also burnt.
Thanks

What you describe is sometimes referred to as "flare". Do a search for the term here and on LS1tech and you will get lots of hits for various causes.

It sounds like the 2-4 band isn't holding.
