Mobil 1 and Mobil 1 high mileage oil

I used a K&N 2002 but I heard you can use a 3002 which is larger how does that help? Is it worth using the Mobil 1 high mileage oil. I know it has detergents that swell the gaskets or something. WHat should I use on a Lt1 with 150,000 miles. I have Mobil 1 thats it.

The bigger filter gives more filter area and oil capacity. Never hurts.

I use Royal Purple Full Synthetic 10w30 .....I know a lot of people don't like it....but it is 1 of the highest rated oils out there......but then again my car has 69k miles not 150k....I'd go w/ Royal Purple or Mobil 1 full synthetic

I've always ran Mobil 1 synthetic 5w30 w/ k&n oil filter part #2002. I've never had a problem.

Make sure you have enough room for the longer filter. If you have the engine cooler the filter can stick down and become the lowest part, which makes it susceptable to being knock off. This is why GM recommends the shorter filter.
