Do you think a K&N Air Filter increases MPG?
I've found it depends on the car. My wifes 05 Monte I didn't see any mileage differance, a bit more power though. My parents Aztek saw a little over 2mpg more. When I put on my 95 Z I saw about the same, about 2mpg, when I can stay off the throttle that is.
just the filter won't make much differance i don't think.
but putting a low restriction intake and cone K&N on my gf's jeep 4.0L gained about 1.5-2 mpg in mileage.
but seeing how restrictive the stock air box is...it didn't surprise me

what is it on 3.8 or 5.7??
if you do the whole FPI kit it should give you a little MPG increase but nothing drastic maybe couple mpg tops.. Awhile back I was considering doing this kind of deal and asked around here: the most mpg anybody listed was something like 3 or 4 MPG increase but that was adding the FPI kit and a good flowing exhaust

Seems as if you guys have all seen good results with that air filter. But I had a friend with a 88 monte carlo. He did gain a bit more power and got about .2 seconds off the quarter with it beleive it or not. But it only improved his top end power. He actualy lost MPG with it by about 2 or 3 MPG. I beleive that is because it only seemed to work good on the top end.
