i stopped and shut off my 94 Z28 and about 20 minutes later when i went to start it the fuel gage jumped way above full and the car will not start its getting spark but apears to not be getting any fuel i guess my question is this ......... considering i know it has a 1/2 of tank of fuel in it, is thefact that the fuel gage has now jumped so far up over full some kind of indicator as to whats wrong with it ??? i appreciate any help thanks

 

Well if the wiring to the gage is open, I believe the gage will peg as yours did. Since the gage and the fuel pump wires are in the same connector, perhaps it's a simple matter of the connector coming loose. Look behind the left rear wheel. The connector passes through the body behind the passenger seat.
