Basic info needed - year of car and engine type would be helpful. Without that, no one can answer your question.

You can turn the SES light off simply by intalling O2 "sims" in place of the after-cat O2 sensors. The alternative would be the LS1_Edit or HP Tuners software but they aren't cheap.

If he's trying to sell you a programmer, it's probably the Hypertech. Don't buy that POS. Get a real tune, but your prob is more likely solved with O2 sims like Fred said.

If all you want is the light turned off. Send me the PCM with payment for $60.00 and I will delete them and mail the PCM back. Thats any codes you want deleted. For the $60.00 I will also change fan settings, delete cags, and recalibrate your speedo if needed. Or $160.00 shipped and I can build you a custom performance tune.

if you disable the code with a tuner does that prevent the monitor from running? what will readiness status display?
i did the same thing to my truck, p0420, wired the sims at the pcm and gutted the cats. it will pass a visual and the only monitor that did not reset was the o2 heater. i am allowed 2 not set on '96-'99 but only one on '2000 up. some places require they are all reset.
it may not be an issue for kingjz if he's not subject to emmission testing.
i do know that a hand held tuner like a hypertech is not going to get the light out. not tring to screw up a sale kyle as $160 is a good price for a custom tune.

That is a very good price for a tune. Go with a tune, you will regret not goind one if you plan to keep modding your car.
