I want 10's, Is it possible?

Here is what I have. I know from reading that I cannot really go past 600whp with my engine but Im still hoping I can hit 10's heres what I have:

355
studded 2 bolt
Small turbo cam
ported LT1 heads
Forged Pistons/plasma moly rings
Forged I beams(cap screw)
STOCK Crank
60lbs injectors
twin 255 intank pumps
3.42's
6speed/spec stg5-its not so bad on the street believe it or not
And a MP70 single turbo/FMIC

With this turbo around 10psi would the *car be capable of 10's with the proper suspension? The motor has almost 1,000 miles on it and when it hits that mark I plan on hooking the turbo up and getting it retuned. What do you think it will take for me to safetly hit 10's and still be able to drive it on the road.Ive read alot about the problems with a stock crank flexing and the studded 2 bolt not being able to hold over 500whp, but its too late now since its already built.I want the motor to last at at least 10,000 miles and at that point im sure ill be ready to step up to a fully forged/built motor. Anything? Oh the cars a 1996 WS6 formula.

I think it would defintely possible. If you had a full race suspension on the car along with a 12-bolt or 9in rearend so you could get some great launches.

It will be tough for you @ 10psi. There is a local guy near me running an lsx T88 setup and that car makes 820rwhp @ 14psi on pump gas. They took it to the track @ 12.5psi and he ran 10.5 @ 142mph w/ 1.70 60'. Traction was tough with the ET streets and M6 tranny.

10psi on your car is somewhere between 500-600rwhp depending on the design of the kit/tune/heads/cam. If you had an auto I'd say definitely, but I will say possibly sine you got an M6 and it will take some serious driving.

Made 3 runs with the best of
1.71 60' -sideways across the 60' mark.
10.5 at 142mph. -I went into the other lane on the shutdown weight 3880lbs

Judging by that Id say his run is invalid with the fact that he shut the car down, had an ALRIGHT 60' time and his MPH was great..who knows maybe?

I'm running a stock crank and rods on a 355 with a 76mm at 11psi. It's held together so far.

You can go high 10s with 600 to the wheels, but it'll take the right car setup.

Stock crank AND rods?? how much power are you putting to the ground? and how long has it held? lol so far could be..2 days. lol.also what do you spin it to? I know rpms is the main killer of stock parts. Is it 2 bolt or 4 bolt?

Re: I want 10's, Is it possible?

Weight is the enemy and traction comes a close second. I have a buddy who has a 5.0 with a small stroker and an S-trim. He is making <600rwhp and runs high nines all day with a best of 9.68 @ 138. Thing is, the car weighs <3,200lbs and has a Lenco. The tranny alone must be worth close to 0.5 seconds compared to a T56, which cannot be effectively powershifted in stock form. He's on a 10" tires, but the car is set up well and runs low 1.3's for the 60'. I have over 800rwhp and run slower.

So, ET's are not just about horsepower.

Exactly...you need alot more hp if your running an M6 versus an auto.

139mph traps show about ~700rwhp... more than the 600rwhp.

psi is a physical manifestation of airflow restriction. What's more important is how many more CFM he was flowing through the motor.

I dont think you'll ever see another LT1 run that fast with only "13psi" and the small amount of mods that car "had"

The problem is its tough to launch an M6 so it needs seom serious hp to run the 2nd half. Its also tougher to build boost off the line without a 2 step. Then the shear shock of dumping the clutch will usually ovecome the tires.

2 years. 561 to the wheels. 2 bolt main with head and main studs.
