Hey guys,
With all the offset crap and everything, I think that these Y2K wheels should fit my '95.

I was thinking front 17.9.5 and rear 18x10.5. Front 17s offset is 53mm, rear offset is 58mm. Will I have to do a hammer mod in the rear to fit them?
Thanks.

10.5" wide with a 58mm offset results in an 8.00" backspace. That will probably require hammering and cutting the edges of the jounce bumpers. Those wheels have a slightly (1/16") larger backspace than the popular 17x11 50mm offset wheels, and will require the same modifications. You could use a thin spacer (1/4" to avoid some of the problems, but (slip on) spacers aren't really a good idea on the rear wheels with a lot of torque.
Note, as explained in the FAQ, not all cars require hammering and cutting the jounce bumper brackets. Mine did, but some others claim they didn't have to. It seems to vary quite a bit from car to car.
The 17x9.5 53mm offset will be fine... no problems at all.

The more I read the more it seems that those ZR1 wheels are the best to get. I just don't want to get them 'cause a lot of ppl. have them, but any aftermarket vette wheel I find either does not have the perfect offset, or is too narrow. I guess 9.5" is not really too narrow, although I did want to run 295 or 315 tires in the rear if possible. Even 285s would be ok. 275s in the front.
If one was to get a zr1 17x11 wheel, 50mm or 36mm offset?
Thanks,
Igor.
