Anyone use type F tranny fluid instead of dextron
Re: Anyone use type F tranny fluid instead of dextron
i'd just stick with dex 3. it has enough cleaning agents in it already. a manual tranny doesn't even really need them that much, unline an auto tranny. Anything but dex 3 can cause wearing on the blocking ring faces and certain fluids will also leak from the trans. if it shifts firmer, it's probably a thicker fluid which can result in harder shifts in the cold as well. dex 3 is well rounded and doesn't give anybody an reason to complain, really. i wouldn't think it's worth it. a good shifter keeps my shifting happy.
