Does anyone know of where I could get 17" steele wheels ( 7" to 8" wide ) which would also fit over the C5 brake upgrade I have done ?
I am looking to put snow tires on them.
The only downside I have found with the C5 upgrade is that you can no longer use 16" wheels :(
Anyone have any good ideas?
Thanks folks.
Kris
P.S.
If by some miracle anyone has two 255/50 17R Dunlop Winter sport tires it Great to new condition let me know.
suggestion...find some cheap used ws6/ss wheels

Wouldn't 245/45 be a better size (height-wise)?

Agreed... that might be your best bet, plus they wouldn't look so bad.
I run 215/60-16 Blizzaks in the winter on the stock wheels. They're not a perfect fit for the wheels (a little stretched) but they've worked well. I haven't actually installed them yet this year, so the Camaro hasn't been driven in about a month.

Just had a thought...
Are you certain that you can't go 16" with steel wheels, for a better (and cheaper) selection of wheels and tires?
In the past (with other cars) I've found that often a smaller diameter steel wheel will fit where an aluminum wheel wouldn't, due to the fact that the steelies use a much thinner material.
BTW, I once looked at ordering some 16" steel wheels for my Camaro at Canadian Tire... they found 2 in Montreal, and 1 in Vancouver... I told them no thanks, my car wouldn't work too well with 3 wheels.:D That was a few years ago, though; they might stock them now.

Hey Dave,
Thanks for the idea of trying 16" steele wheels (you are right, I should not assume they won't fit) and if it worked the tires would be much cheaper as well.
The reason I asked about the 255/50 is that I do have two of them on a set of extra (well sort of extra, they are my original WS6 wheels as I currently use 2001/2002 WS6 wheels for the summer), anyway those tires work great but the other two tires that came with this great deal (205/50) are way to skinny and don't fit the 9" WS6 rim. Thanks for the advice guys!

A 16" wheel will not fit on a car with a C5 brake upgrage. Even some 17" wheels won't fit with the C5 upgrade. :) So, I would just find some cheap 10 spoke SS wheels. I think you can find a set of those 10 spoke wheels for $200.
