Help Cannot get the rack & pinion off my 01

Hi - Thanks in advance.

I have a 01 z28 LT1. I am trying to replace the R&P. I read some posts on the board on how to do it and have the car half apart and I am stuck.

On the drivers side the bolt holding the rack will not clear the oil pan. I have tried jacking the engine and everything I know how to do except taking the engine mount apart which I really do not want to do.

Appreciate any help.

There's a forum for "Suspension, Chassis and Brakes"..... I'll move it there.

In the meantime, you might want to clarify why you have an LT1 in an 01 Z28, because that might affect the answer.
