got this from the GTO forum at LS1.com

"The Zeta platform is dead. But that is only the tip of the story. I was told by a very reliable source that the reason for the dropping of that platform is that Cadillac has an almost identicle platform to Zeta themselves in the works. With GM's current cash problems, they saw no reason to develop two platforms that were so similar. Things are not a dead as it would seem. Cadillac is going to have to share is what I hear."

sorry its 4AM and reading about it, was this discussed already? Did we know that Caddy is the reason Red is saying its not totally dead? This what he was talking about..the Caddy platform??

To answer the question without giving away the story:

*Cadillac isn't developing a new platform, they are updating the CTS's Sigma.

*Zeta ISN'T dead. It's being made in Australia, and spin offs of it will be made here.

*There's a thin line between Zeta and Sigma.
