Moser 12 Bolt or Strange 12 Bolt

I am looking to replace my rear end and I was leaning towards the Strange 12 bolt but I just wanted to ask if anyone had experience with either. Which one is better? Why? Etc Etc Thanx for any helpful information!!!

i as going to get moser, but got a GREAT deal on a strange with upgraded posi.. for a lil cheaper than moser.. imo... both great.. 12 bolt is a 12 bolt... both handle alot of power... the shop i ordered the strange from, he runs low 10s on it.. sooo it can take more power than ill be putting out.. for now anyway

Re: Moser 12 Bolt or Strange 12 Bolt

I got my Strange with upgraded posi and axles a few years back and have had put a lot of miles and a ton of power through it without any complaints. The only downside, was it was back ordered for like 6-8 weeks. I was at MTI last summer and asked them which they used and they told me they use Moser purely becasue of the availablity. i have to say Strange is the way to go! Good luck......

I didn't do the poll because you did not have "no significant difference, so I don't care" as a choice.

Im getting a strange12 also im getting full out BMR suspension products for free and the torque arm im getting doesnt fit the moser too well so im getting the strange. both good, both handle lots of power,

also, the strange12 is a direct replacement and to my knowledge, dont quote me on this, but i heard that the moser12 isnt a direct replacement, some mods must be made but im not sure what exactly..

Re: Moser 12 Bolt or Strange 12 Bolt

If I had the cash, from what I've read, I'd be getting a Strange 12 bolt, with 3.73's and a Detroit True-Trac... (don't plan on doing any serious Drag racing though)

If i had a traction control 4 channel ABS car, I'd just get a Ford 9" though.

or if your just into drag racing and don't care about ABS.. a Ford 9"....

lol, i agree.

besides, my opinion would be completely biased due to the fact that ive only driven a moser 12 bolt. so i would have no means of comparison between the two. but as Rich mentioned, "no significant difference, so i don't care," suits me as well as for my opinion on these two similar rearends.

fwiw- moser is a pretty simple bolt on application too. someone mentioned that they didnt think that it was. the only thing you have to do is put on your stock brake plates and have the bearings pressed on.

Wink Re: Moser 12 Bolt or Strange 12 Bolt

I just had to post a reply to this thread as I have 1 of my own on here about the moser 12 bolt regarding noise and vibration. Just wanted to know if any of you guys with the moser 12 bolt have had this problem. In my opinion right now go with the strange. I have put less than 20 miles on the moser and have tried everything and cant get rid of the noise and vibration no matter what I have tried. I guess it is a call to moser tomorrow to see what they suggest.
Good luck with whatever you decide on
P.S check out my thread and any help would be greatly appreciated
Dave
