Engine balancing question.

I am building a new LS1 engine for my 02 z28. And I plan on using the flywheel and balancer from my old engine.

So I am wonder if its ok to use a flywheel and balancer from one engine and use it on a different engine? Or will they need to be balanced just for the new engine?

And when having rods, crank and pistons balanced do you have to balance the flywheel and balancer with them so they will be balanced as a set?

And how many of you balance rotating assemblies when build a new engine?

The flywheel and balancer are both neutral on the LS1 engines. You can use your factory fly and balancer on the new engine your building, no problem there. Also, when balancing a new assembly all the machine shop needs is the crank, rods, and pistons. All our engines built here in the shop are fully balanced.
