will ring and pinion fit

I have an opportunity to get a set of 3.42 gears (7.5" ring and pinion ) for my '95 T/A w/2.73 gears (2 series case). This set is out of a GMC Sanoma (S-10). Is it a direct bolt in? Thanks for your help! Larry

I doubt it:think:. Factory 3.42's for the F-body 10-bolt are on a 3-series carrier. Maybe you could swap the whole carrier though?:confused: (if the Sonoma's is a posi, and if you can get it?;)).

No, it the ring and pinion will not fit. Like said, if you can get the whole carrier from the Sonoma, that will work, but it most likely will have an open carrier (no posi). The gear set will work if you get a ring gear spacer though.
