Custom intake manifold, where to start?

First off, let me start by saying, that at one time, i thought i had seen a dual throttle body, crossram style LS1 intake in a magazine. No one know's what i'm talking about, so i may have made the whole thing up in my head at this point, and it seems like a cool idea. So here's where i'm at:
I want to build an LS1 intake that uses 2 seperate plenums crossram style, with 2 throttle bodies. I want it CNC laser cut, and machined to use stock gaskets, and i'll have it TIG welded. First off, where do i go about having this made? I have a fabricator that does amazing things, and has a full laser cutting machine, and machine shop, but would i need an engineer to draw up some CAD programs, or is this info available? How do you get the TPS to work on 2 throttle bodies at the same time? I'm running turbos, so will i need a certian material to hold boost? Any pointers for those who have seen or build sheet metal intakes?

You might want to contact Matt Antonelli at Finish Line Perfromance in Hibernia, NJ. He has a sheetmetal LS1 intake of his own design, currently installed on a blown/nitroused LS1. I am sure he would be interested in your idea.

Mustang guys that i saw used alpha N fuel managment..I would be pretty hard to run two TPS and wire tham in without confliction problems..If you ran the throttle bodies next to each other then you could utilize the same shaft to control them and one TPS installed on one of the TBs to give the signal..Just have both plates in sych..

The sheet metal intakes that ive built were done by some basic readings from factory gaskets and measurement from the heads installed onto the engine block.I used some engineering students from my frat that attend MIT to help..They needed just some gaskets for the ports,TB, and then they wanted to take some readings of the heads installed to make the baseplate. Then to cut the matierial i used a local company with a water jet to cut the parts and welded them up myself..The baseplates seem to be the hardest..I tried to find one avail but had no luck..That was for a small block chevy..The other one was for an SHO taurus 3.2...So what ive learned is that the runners /and/or plenum is the easy part, its the base and readings for the CNC machine to cut the hard stuff.

I think your making it harder than it needs to be..More than likely the factory intake could be taken for measurements..Id start to look outside of teh auto industry for this..Any outside firm with a waterjet or lazer cutting machine could reference the proper person to make the blueprints for you..

Searching around on the internet, i found this place:

I'm pretty sure they could build it.
Can anyone picture what i'm trying to build? I'm trying to go for the old Z28 crossram style intake, but wth fuel injection. After looking around, i suppose it would look a bunch like the Viper V10 engine with the dual throtle bodies.

I have a hogans and gotta say they rock. They will build anything you want and have it to you in the timeframe they say.

That sounds like the Lingenfelter ~770 HP LS6? I remember the intake, I believe I have the magazine. Shoot me an email and I can post or send the info.

Finally, someone knows what i'm talking about. If you have a pic of it, i'd love to see it again.

May 2001 CHP mag for anyone interested, 570 HP (guess I was dreaming), 11:1 427 on 92 octane LS6, $7,000 setup (almost sounds cheap compared to lesser setups).

Jon Moss put an intake kinda like what you are talkin about on the yellow Z28 from GMs toy box, it was off of a daytona 24 hour car, it looks a lot like what you are describeing... hope this helps...

I've seen that intake too, I'll see if I can find it.
