With Vortec heads, siamesed runners and a vortec manifold I am looking for the best cam. Also running a trick 700R4.

My mechanic says the GM ZZ4 is a good streetable cam. I personally like the LT4 Hotcam as a healthy alternative except for the necessary computer reprogramming. I will be using the car 98% on the street and love to wind on the freeways.

Can anyone help with alternatives? Comp Cams, Crane, Edelbrock, Isky, Lunati, ASR, etc.

350 ci, SLP headers, Siamesed runners, Bigmouth base, stock gears for a 1992 Z28 and trick 700R4.

I am going to install the cam along with Vortec heads and manifold. I plan to port and match the heads, manifold and runners as well as open the runners and plenium a bit.

All this is in a 92' Z28

OK, unless you modify the spring seats and use different springs, the Vortec heads aren't safe for a cam with more than about .460 lift.

Thus my best advice is to call either Comp or Crane on their toll free 1-800 line and tell them exactly what you have. They'll nail the right cam for you, so DO take their advice.

Good luck and let us know what they recommend :)
