Hey guys, me again. Incase you dont know me, I just purchased a Vortech V1 S-Trim. I am looking at the parts and it has an FMU, Teal colored MSD Ignition Box with boost retard (switch for 1-3 degrees/#), and some sort of MAF box that looks like it plugs in where the factory MAF goes. I have a couple questions and need some help from you guys.
#1 - Why is the MSD box teal and is that an ignition box? I ask because do I need to buy a seperate MSD box and coil to complete the ignition system? I have an Accel ignition box and coil. If the box that came with the kit is the ignition box, then I just need an MSD coil right?
#2 - Do we not use our MAFs with this kit? Should we use the MAF instead of the unit that came with the S-trim? Advantages/disadvantages?
#3 - Should I use the fmu with the kit?
#4 - What kind of hp difference is there (typically) between the 3dgrees/# and 1degree/# of retard?
