hey all.....had a few questions for the FI gurus......i think i'm going to blow my z-28 and i have a few questions.
suspension, tranny and rear-end are accounted for.
1. i originall wanted 383 stroker w/N2O.....was thinking or going 355 with S/C.....what advantage/disadvantage does 355 have over 383?
2. what is a good fuel system and what pound injectors to use.
3. definately plan on going with intercooler.
the goal is basically a 10 second any weather condition streetable car that will not travel long distances. the blower being considered is the ATI P-1SC with I/C.
any help and opinions will be greatly appreciated.....CM is going to be doing the motor when i decide.

Depending on what displacement you choose will account for alot things you wil lhave to account for. You can have a 10 second ride with a low compression, forged piston 355 w/ a optimal sized cam on the carrect lsa. You can keep your stock heads as its not needed to get you there. It would help you get ther fast er but not needed. As far as fuel you will have to upgrade your injectors depending on how much boost your putting out and o from there. Although Ive seen people run with the stock intank fuel pump and a nice booster pump. i would recomend replace the intank if not at least get a 255lph or higher external. You said you had the suspension and everything e;se takin care of so Im going to assume your going to have a 12 bolt or 9" rear in the back ?. and if your a 6-speed be prepared to replace for a better one. Im sure Im missing other things as well but im sure someone else will pick up on them. But we need more info.

ya i know, but i like a little more info before i do my search so i can narrow it down.........the rear-end is a moser 12 bolt and the tranny will be a prepped 4l60 fwiw. i guess what i don't know is what type of boost numbers should i be shooting for...obviously i want more than the standard 6 or 8 psi but what's too much.....the engine will be built to suit so whatever is needed from there will be discretionary.

Centrifugal superchargers build boost nearly linearly with rpm. So, at low rpm, they won't build much boost. A 383 complements this characteristic well by building torque at low rpm where the supercharger isn't doing much.

Your post cover s a lot of ground, but just a suggestion. If you paln on a 10sec car, I'd recommend the D1 rather than the P1. It flows an additional 200cfm.

so it looks like the 383 is going to be the choice as the 355 won't make as much down low and i would guess that you'd have to rev it to the moon to get anywhere. thanks for the opinions guys. what level boost would be a good bet that won't exceed the limits of the stock pcm.....i was thinking about 12psi.

With an Acceleronics impedence converter box, I seriously doubt you'll approach the limits of the stock PCM. You can run very large injectors (at least 72# = 1000 hp) with the converter.
