long tube hooker dual exhaust set up

I am about to buy the hooker Long tube headers and need some advice on what mufflers, cats(if any) to run with a true dual exhaust and where to put them?

If anyone has any pics of their set that would help also.
Thanks
Ravi

I got some soundcats off of ebay for 50 bucks a piece, they are one of the best flowing, and weight about 4-5 pounds each, a huge difference from the stock cats. Since your in Cali, I would suggest you put them on, I hear over there they give you up to 5000 dollar fine for each cat missing. When I did mine, I bought some 3 inch pipe from summit plus their header collector reducers, I didn't need any bended pipes cause I angled the cats right around the trans which took the place of bends then straight back into the muffler. I have my own welder so it was very easy and cheap to make, with everything it was about 190 bucks here are some pics, they are kinda hard to see, so if you want better ones just let me know. I've been meaning to go under there and take more, but have been pretty lazy. http://community.webshots.com/album/79485783kIzaYY
Many guys run X pipes, which you could do with cats, but it would be harder and take more clearance away from the already small space there stock. I orignally had an X, but took it out in place of cats. Under the left side where the cat is, I hammer up the floorpan slightly just to give breathing room for the cat, so now there;s about an inch in between so I never have to worry about the heat. The bulge is under the front seat and no one will ever notice, so don't be afraid if you want the extra room. I also bent the fuel lines up farther into the tunnel, so they are plenty far from the exhaust, I took a screwdriver and my hand and bent each one individually which went pretty fast, just in case, since the cats get so hot. I can't think of any other problems. Not sure which muffler your going with, but the standard square type mufflers, really take away from the clearance, this is why so many choose bullets, although they are very loud. I would suggest a round muffler, or a small square one. I know thrush makes square ones that are only three inches thick and are only 15 bucks a pop. I've had many different mufflers, and these sound pretty good, not to quiet not to loud, in fact much better than the generic 4.5 inch mufflers which are sometimes to quiet.

They're asking just over $650 for them but I have a buddy here making me a set.
