I believe the 586 denotes the last 3 digits of the hotcam GM p/n...

i don't know, but wanted to add that i had a CompCams 270h in a 85' 350 SB, and it had 270h stamped on the end of it, so maybe this could help, but i doubt CC makes one w/ that #.

if you have a micrometer, you can check the lobes of the cam

the only thing is a micrometer wont tell me the duration, or LSA....lift is lift....alto of cams have the same lift as teh HOT cam...does an LS1 cam look alot different? I found in pace performace a LS1 ASA cam that ends in teh parts number "110"...does an LS1 cam have the mechanical fuel pump lobe and a gear for a distributer???

call your local chev dealership, and ask if that part number is for a hot cam, they should be happy to help

186 98L
586 WB11

Are the #'s on mine..

I believe the 186 98L and WB11 are production run #'s, etc, and the 586 is the last 3 digits of the hotcam p/n[ as I previously stated]
I would say if it doesn't have '586' on the back end, stamped in, it isn't a hot cam.. the other #'s seem to vary.. and are rather random.. but the 586 is consistent..
Hope this helps..

ok i posted my #'s off my cam and Mtrhds94Z posted his, both have 586 at the begining of the bottom set of #'s. You seem to be only reading the top set because you keep giving a 6 diget code
