Bocsh O2 extension ?

Ok I am extending my wires and I bought Bosch sensors and they come with a black, a gray, and 2 white wires, I followed the directions that came with the sensors,(I bought universal so they would be longer) and it says it don,t matter with the heater wires cause of polarity or something.
Is this true?
I cut off the ends of my old O2s and am wiring them in.
I know the universal ones are a little more expensive but it makes it easier.

The heater wires don't matter. Hook one up to Ground and the other to switched 12V.........
