How many bright teal metallic 95 z's were made?

I had read that in 96 the teal color was rare.
I also read that 95 was also rare with the 110 mph speedo so I'm not sure if the color was rare or the combo was rare. I've got a 95 bright teal z28 with regular speedo.

Does anybody know this info off hand?

Not exactly an "engine" tech question... let's move to Appearance.

Code 37 Bright Teal Metallic was the 5th most popular color in 1995. The Camaro White Book shows that out of a production run of over 122,000 Camaros (all models), there were 10,167 in bright teal metallic. There is no further breakdown regarding an option (or lack of option) like the Z-rated tire option, which got you the 155MPH speedo.

Re: How many bright teal metallic 95 z's were made?

Okay thanks. For the record, I found someone referencing that in 95:
Only 9075 of the Camaros in 95 received the 110.
Only 2245 Z28's came with the 110 speedo option.
But that doesn't help much, lol.

I tried to break down my RPO to see what it originally came with.

Re: How many bright teal metallic 95 z's were made?

Okay I think I see why. I looked up the RPO codes for 96 and there is a QCB for non z-rated tires. It makes sense my car has non z-rated tires. It is also missing the 95 RPO QMT for the 110 speedo which I would expect since I have a 150/155 speedo.

Tire options for 95.
QMT Tires, P235/55R16 Blackwall (no cost w/ Z28) production #9,075
QFZ Tires, P245/50ZR16 Blackwall all-season (optional w/ Z28) production #16,522
QLC Tires, P245/50ZR16 Blackwall (optional w/ Z28) production #16,362
Tire options for 96.
QCB Tires, P235/55R16 Blackwall (no cost w/ Z28) production #7,424
QFZ Tires, P245/50ZR16 Blackwall all-season (optional w/ Z28) production #8,585
QLC Tires, P245/50ZR16 Blackwall (optional w/ Z28) production # 38,045

Re: How many bright teal metallic 95 z's were made?

I've been reading that the 110 speedo option QMT for 95 was mandatory to govern the speed with tire rating. However late in 95 some z's were released with the new code QCB for 96 instead of QMT.

So I think late in 95 you could buy a z28 with non z-rated tires but regular speedometer like mine.

Re: How many bright teal metallic 95 z's were made?

fbodyrs96, thank you. I've tried it but it's not on file.

It makes sense when you look at 95 production of QMT(non z rated).
The numbers are way lower than normal, because many of those vehicles in 95 came with QCB instead. They are not necessarily rare cars despite what the numbers look like.

In 96 QCB general production numbers are much higher than expected because of the displacement from 95. Note that 96 QCB was rare with teal color, which technically my 95 falls under that category, but perhaps not entirely since we are talking about half year semantics.

What is actually rare is to get a 95 z28 with QCB, yet a 150 speedo.
Remember the requirement was that all 95 with QMT must have 110 speedo.
Since mine does not have QMT the explicit mandate ignores the newer code QCB and assumes a z rated tire.

Thus non z-rated tires with 150 speedo = rare.

Awaiting dispute... lol
