Some people don't bother, because is only hits the wheel or tire when the axle is at full drop. My preference is surgery.
The alternative is to get the 36.5mm offset wheels and have them stick outside the fenders. Again, influenced by personal preference.
Re: ZR1 17x11 which offset?
I had to remove every last bit of the bump stops. after tyhey were removed and cut and ground down i had to bang in the little humps where they attached to. I'll snak a pic or 2, but i had to remove it all and make the inner fender completely flat, tires already stick out 3'8" past the fenders on both sides, and they almost hit my lower control arms.

well i jsut got these...http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...RK%3AMEWN%3AIT
We have combined two sizes in this set. There are 2-17x9.5 (+56mm, 7.4" backspace) front and 2-17x11 (+50mm, 7.93" backspace) rear. These are the same as the Grand Sport offset. They are 5-lug (5x120.65mm).
They will fit the 1988 through 1996 Corvette. They will also fit the 1993 through 2003 Camaro/Firebird or Trans Am. They will NOT fit the “Convertible” model of the 1993-1997 Camaro, Firebird or Trans Am.
should be in next week, but im gettign 315 nittos on the rear! so what surgery am i looking at for my 95 camaro?

Some people claim they are able to fit the 17x11's in the back with no problems. I think a large part of it depends on the exact dimensions of the 315 tire you choose.... BFG 315 Drag Radials are apparently substantially wider than the 315 Nitto drag radials. Running the BGF's, I had to cut the edge of the jounce bumper (see photo linked above), hammer the inner fender panels, and recenter the body over the rear axle. Others haven't had to do this. Seems like maybe some build tolerance stack up, or maybe my Strange 12-bolt is slightly narrower than stock... I don't know how to account for the differences between cars.

Re: ZR1 17x11 which offset?
I bought a set of black powder coated ZR1's last month with the 36.5mm offset in the rear and have had problems with the fender lips. My formula is lowered with the sportline springs. I actaully last week ordered that fender lip rolling tool "the Jimmy", that you used Fred. It should be here next week and was wondering how easy it is to use and any tips you might have on using it.
Thanks
Craig.
Thanks

Re: ZR1 17x11 which offset?
I went 1/2's with a friend on the Jimmy. It is "OK".... it only grabs a part of the fender at a time, so you have to bend it very slowly and keep working your way around the edge over and over until you get it bent up the maximum amount of 45-degrees. If you want to bend it any more, you need to use something else. It also won't fit over the lip when you get to the extreme ends of the fenders. The "baseball bat" method would seem to be worth a try.
Re: ZR1 17x11 which offset?
Thanks for the info Fred, hope it turns out ok. I read that you made a cut through the paint around the fender with a blade first. I think I am going to try and bend it a little more after the 45 with a bat after using the tool. Hopefully it will be a little easlier having a 45 degree angle already. Will have to see how much confidence I have to do that though
Thanks again
Craig.

Ah! It was YOU who kept outbidding me! The price just kept going up and I was like "What is with these people? Buy it Now is usually over $100 less for these rims!"
I waited a week, and just got the same rims for $560 including shipping, instead of $585 + $80!
