Z06 Rims Wont Fit

Hello I called belle tire today and they told me that the corvette z06 rims 18x10.5 will not fit in the rear they will rub when turning. Did anybody ever put 17x9.5 and 18x10.5 on there camaro with no problems - Mike

they will fit. Some guys use a small spacer to take care of the rubbing problem.

By turning you mean rolling, right? I just ordered black Z06 17/9.5, and I'm going to put 285/40/17 on all 4. I have been told that this wont be a problem, back spacing is about 56mm.

you only need a spacer in back if you have 18 x 10 or bigger

Here's the deal on this...

REAL Corvette Z06 wheels with the Corvette offset in size 18 x 10.5 WILL NOT FIT on an f-car WITHOUT the use of spacers (not recommended) and/or hammering the inner fenderwell where they rub and/or rolling the fender lip.

Aftermarket replica Corvette wheels made in the SAME offset will naturally rub as well.

Aftermarket replica Corvette wheels made in the F-BODY offset will naturally do fine.

OEM dimensions are:

17x9.5 - 54mm offset

18x10.5 - 58mm offset

Its the 58mm offset that kills you on the 10.5" wide wheel, because that corresponds to an 8.00" backspace, and that puts the tire into the inner fender in the back. The 17x9.5's should fit with no problems at all.

4mm is only .157", so I would think that if you switched to an aftermarket brake rotor,Pronto (the cheap ones), the added thickness would make up for the offset. You may need longer studs though.

With the Z06 rims at 17/9.5 w/ 285/40 tires all around, would I have a problem lowering the car w/ springs?

No you won't have any problems since 285/40 will put you around 26 inches. As long as you don't go over 28 inchesyou will be fine. As for the Z06 wheels I would go with 18s though but thats just me.
