Z06 Rim Decisions

I need help with making a decision on what size rims and what brand and size of tires....I want to go 18" unless someone can talk me out of that but for the front 18x9.5 and back 18x10.5. Or should i go 9.5 all the way around? Whats the benefits....Or 17's in front 18's in back.....Any help with the decision would be great....I like the the way lethal chem has his wheel setup if ne1 knows that....I have a 97' 30th anv Cayenne Red Metallic Z28 if that helps....

the benefits of going the same size all around if you run the same size of tire obviously is you have the option to rotate. If you dont run the same size of tire, with the 9.5's you will have less rotating mass in the rear. this may mean little or nothing to you. I personally would go with the 10.5's in the rear and run a 315 or 335 tire. thats just me though and run a smaller 275 up front. As for the staggering wheel size, I'd leave it to the vettes. just my opinions.

Depending on the offset, some of the 18x10.5" 'vette wheels have excessive backspace, that may require a spacer to keep the inside edge of the tire off the inner fender liner. Not sure its a good idea to run spacers on the drive wheels.

Re: Z06 Rim Decisions

I think the 10.5 is just for looks and it looks darn good!

I wouldn't go as big as a 315 or 335(not sure if you can on that rim??) I myself would go 295 "IF" i would go 10.5. Seems like there is alot of problems gettin it to fit right and not rub around corners and such, although the 10.5 may not be as bad in that regard as the 11's? I have heard that you can't lower the car with that size or you'll run into big trouble.

I havent actually done it yet either but I have been researching various threads trying to decide also. Let us know when you do it.

Are they the AFS your lookin at?

Re: Z06 Rim Decisions

If I were you I would stick with 17X9.5 all the way around with 275/40 tires. If you go different size tires and this is a daily driver your gonna kick yourself in the a** later because your gonna wear your tires out quick without being able to rotate them. Also if you go to the track at all the side wall on 18's will be to small to get a decent launch. Just my $.02
