Re: Y2k C5s.... will they fit?
...I've got a set of 17 x 8.5 Y2K rims {aftermarket) on my car, they fit
fine in the front {no spacers}. I wish I had the 9.5" ones. As far I know they aren't even
available in 10". In fact, if you {or anyone else} know of anyone who makes them in that size {10.5"} please let me know as I need to replace mine. I didn't need spacers in the rear for mine but I did have to do a little hammer work
& cut off part of my rubber bumper stop. I have used BF Goodrich KD's
{275's} & Kumo 712's {also 275's} & have BF Goodrich Drag Radials {275's} that
should be here tomorrow. Now what you might want to check on is the amount
of offset on your friends wheels. Mine are the 56mm offset. If they are the
actual factory Corvette wheels they might have more of an offset {like a
36mm} which would put them farther out in your wheel wells. Hopefully someone
else will chime in here if you have the Corvette wheels. But with the aftermarket ones your fitment issues will be on the inside.....
Enjoy your new wheels

Re: Y2k C5s.... will they fit?
so your tellin me the stock vette wheels are 9.5 in teh back and front? i really dont know. i didnt pick them up yet. but they are stock vette wheels right off a vette. so they would have the vette ofset not the camaro one... can any one else he lp me out here?
Re: Y2k C5s.... will they fit?
im pretty sure the stock vette rims were 17x9.5 in front and 18x9.5 rear... and yes you will need an adapter to get them to bolt up.
-----------
btw did you buy those off the board ? saw someone selling a set , think those were the pics, real good price on them.
----------
ohh and as far as clearance, im running 18x9.5 on all 4 and have no problems, you may need to hammer your fender well a bit since you will be needing to adapt them.

Re: Y2k C5s.... will they fit?
i kno you dont need an adapter... but do you need spacers so taht the wheels sit out further? i kno teh backspacing is different, what kinda problems will taht cause.
also yes, i didnt buy these off this board, but i noticed they are listed on here as well... so yea, same ones

Re: Y2k C5s.... will they fit?
....I believe that the Vette offset puts the wheel/tire out more towards the fender lip in 'our' cars, not in more. But I certainly could be wrong.... Hopefully Injuneer see's this as he'll know..... Bill.....
Re: Y2k C5s.... will they fit?
...yep, they stick out farther. You'll have to 'roll' the
outside fender lip,
& may be do body work. Go to search, put in 'offset and 36mm', when
your search comes up, go 5 posts down to one that was last answered
by Injuneer and it gets into detail..... Hope this helps... hummm, so
the lower the offset number, the farther the wheels/tires stick out. This
seems backwards..... Bill....

Re: Y2k C5s.... will they fit?
no, there is no way you ahve to roll the fenders... just cuz the wheels stick out further.... i think your understanding wrong. you would need to roll the fenders if you were going to a bigger tire or slick like fred has. not a wheel with a different ofset.
