Will +25mm offset wheels work on the front?
Will +25mm offset wheels work on the front?
Looking at some american racing rebel number 699 wheels. Says the rear is 41mm and the front 25? Does that sound correct. I thought stock was 40mm all around.
Thanks

What is the width on the wheels? Offset doesn't mean much without knowing the width.
Stock 16x8 and 17x9 (WS6/SS) 4th Gen wheels are 55mm offset. Look for a post I made a couple days ago to someone wanting a 25mm offset in the front. With the width wheels he was looking at, they appeared to be outside the fenders.
Give full specs on the wheels, and its easier to answer the question.

In the back, the 41mm offset gives you about a 6.6" backspace, with the wheel sticking out about 3.4" from the hub mounting flange. That will put the outside of the wheel just about where my old OZ Monte Carlo, 17x9.5" 49mm offset wheels sat:

No problems in the back, won't rub on anything.
But I'm not sure why they then recommend a 25mm offset in the front. That means the front wheel will be moved out about 0.60" further toward the outside of the fenders than the back wheels, and will stick out more than 1/2" farther than the wheels in my pictures. Will probably have some issues with the outer edges of the tires rubbing on the fender on hard turns.
I'm not sure why they are recommending different offsets front and back. That would have made sense on a 3rd Gen F-Body, where the factory wheels sometimes had different offsets front and rear (or the same offset with factory spacers in the rear).
