My tires rub and ive done everything i could. I pounded the inner fenders where it was rubbing, grinded the bump stop and centered the axel. It will only rub if i take a sharp turn and i cant jack the car up by the body because it hits the bump stops. Ive tryed searching but the thinist i could find was 1/8" and i think 1/16" would solve my problems, i dont want to move it out too much because it will hit the outer fender.

 

Take the bump stops off. I took mine off because they would touch the rim edges on cornering, even after grinding them. If that makes you uncomfortable, get some Air Lift bags for the rear springs and put about 10 lbs in them.

 

That wouldnt stop my inner fenders from rubbing though.

 

get me some demensions and i can make them for you for the cost of whatever regular ones cost. i can make them on a lathe at work. i have made many things for my car. lol just let me know

 

I did ask a machine shop and they said it would take a long time because the pice is small and has to be percise in order not to vibrate. They told me at least 4 hours plus material for the 2 pices, it works out to over $300. I doubt you could make it for the price that other mass produced spacers are made.

 

i can turn the piece on a speed lathe to get it true from vibration. it will take some time. what they said is probably about right. so far, I've made bronze pilot bushings, alternator mounts, bushings for using bigger comp cams bronze on lt1 oil drive units, radiator mounts, and i've altered input shafts on a speed lathe to accomodate the pilot bushing i made. This is just stuff i've made for my car along the way. I just finished a 4" aluminum fan space for a 69 firebird. So, machining the product is not a problem. I have to do this durring my down time at work, so just allow me some time. If you want me to do this for you, give me some demensions of everything you need and i can make it. i have stock of aluminum at work ready to go if you want aluminum. anyway, just let me know. as far as price, I can beat 300 easily. i'd have to figure cost of materials and labor, but much less that 300.

 

how thick are the ones on the rears of some 3rdgens

 

Someone told me they were 3mm or 1/8". I may try those first since they are a lot cheaper then custom ones.
