Re: wheels

There is nothing wrong with running the Weld Pro-Stars or Draglites on the street, except for the obvious "skinnies". The 15x3.5" Weld wheels are marked "drag race use only".... all the wider models are good for street use. The Centerline Telstar is similar, costs less, and doesn't get into the problems of grinding tha calipers, spacers and longer studs that come with the Welds. Probably not as light as the Welds, though.

You seem to be looking at a wide range of wheels... the Welds are typically 15's, while you also seem interested in 17's. You need to narrow down the range a little. And, you need to clarify what kind of "big tire" you want to put on the back... street? drag? road race or Auto-X?

More info needed.

Re: wheels

A 275 needs a 17x9.0" or 9.5" wide wheel. The 315 calls for a 17x10.5" or 11" wide wheel, but a lot of people seem to survive with the 315 Nittos on 9.5" wide wheels. Do a "search".... there is a current thread with pictures of the 315's on 9.5's.

Or, you could go to the 275/50-15 DFG Drag Radial and use a 15x8" 5.5" backspace Telstar. That's about as cheap a wheel as you can find, short of looking for some old stamped steel wheels off a V6.
