Wheel Stud/Need Help
I broke 2 studs on my front driverside tire, I got the studs out, but I'm not sure what the easiest way is to put the new ones back in and need your help there. I've seen that people sell stud installers but not sure if its the right kind and how they work. Can someone let me know if this is something I need to change them. Below is a link to a installer kit.
Thanks

I really don't think you will need a tool. What I have done in the past is got the stud on far enough so that the rough edge is biting into the HUB, place the tire onto the HUB and then start tighting the lug nuts. As you tighten the lug nuts that should pull the new stud in.
Do not put the wheel on to tighten the studs into place. With the torque needed to draw the studs in you could damage the wheel. Get some extra open ended lug nuts and some flat washers that fit over the stud and thread the lug nut on backwards (flat side toward the inside) Then you can tighten down the lug nut until the stud is drawn into position. Have done this many times with good results. Ask me how I know.....had to do this on the road with a friends car when the auto shop didn't tighten the lug nuts all the way. (I also own a trailer shop where this is a fairly common problem)
