Wheel question???

I know thet a +56mm offset wheel has a backspacing of 7 1/2 inches and that a 38mm offset wheel has a backspacing of 6 3/4 inches. So which offset is going to make the wheel stick out further the 56 or 38. And which one will make the wheel sit in closer to the the wheel well. I know theres a sticky at the the top but i couldnt really find any thing in there about this somebody please just tell me the answer.

Re: Wheel question???

The 56 will make the wheel sit in closer.....IIRC the lower the offset the further out the wheel sits and visa versa.

Re: Wheel question???

Correct.... the backspace is the distance from the mounting hub surface to the inside edge of the wheel. The 7.5" backspace wheel will fit 3/4" deeper in the wheel well than the 6.75" backspace wheel. Appears you are looking at 9.5" wide wheels.

Re: Wheel question???

What size tire fits on a wheel is determined by the width of the wheel, not by the offset.

Whether that tire rubs on anything is determined by the offset, since too much offset and the inner edge of the tire rubs on the inner fender liner, and too little offset and the outer edge of the tire may rub on the fender lip.

Re: Wheel question???

For the back, on a 9.5" wide wheel, anything in the range of 45-56mm offset will put the tire pretty much in the center of the wheel well.
