Wheel problem, or tire problem????
Anyone ever have any trouble getting their tires OFF a set of Welds?
Last time I swapped drag tires, the shop that I go to for all my tire work had a huge problem breaking the Hoosier QTP's off the 15x10" Weld Pro-Stars. They just couldn't get the tire beads to pop over the ridges that hold them against the edges of the rims. Used every device they had in the shop - hydraulic, air driven and manual.
I don't know how they finally got them off.... after about an hour of trying I left them there and went back the next day. They had my new M/T ET Drags mounted, and the QTP's were still in good shape.
Is this a problem unique to the QTP's, or am I going to have the same problem when I try and remove the ET Drags?
