what is the width of a 93-96 rear hub?
Re: what is the width of a 93-96 rear hub?
Good question... are you trying to make some fit too? Injuneer had said in the wheel/tire thread to sand off some of the inside of the wheel... why not sand off some of the outside of the hub instead since it has no special finish on it?
Re: what is the width of a 93-96 rear hub?
i just wanted to know bc i need to buy some 1inch spacers and want to make sure that the hole on the spacers will be wide enough before i order them.. im not sure if its ok to dremel the inside of a wheel spacer..
by the way. admisnistrators.. i just realized that this should be in the wheel section. feel free to move it
sorry

Re: what is the width of a 93-96 rear hub?
I would think that you can dremel the inside of the spacer. In the wheel/tire thread I believe.. someone mentions that the wheels are not centered by the hub, but rather by the conical faced lugs... I would think that for this same reason it would be ok to dremel the inside of the spacers.
Are the spacers going on stock sized rear wheels? If so I'd love to see some pics when ur done.

no, these are going on silver zr1's, i used to have 2 spacers but i got rid of them, and now i got another set of 17x9's so i was looking for another set(it makes it look like 11's in the back.. ) heres some pics of how it looked with the spacer..
the silver zr1's had the spacer.

Pull the wheel off the back, clean the loose rust off the projecting hub, and measure it with a caliper. No other way you can be sure. The hub diameter changed sometime in 1996 model year, as best I can tell.
You need to find out whether the spacer is lug-centric or hub-centric (have we had this conversation before?). If its hub-centric, you do not want to mess with the inside diameter of the spacer. If its lug-centric, it is OK to alter the inside diameter from a dimensional point of view. But I would not alter the spacer in any way at all. A simple "gouge" can lead to stress concentrations, and you really don't want a highly loaded wheel spacer (I'm assuming is really a unit that bolts to your stock studs and has new studs for the wheels) to crack because of a stress riser.
I'll move the thread to "Wheels and Tires".
