For the brakes, I as going off of my best guess. My LT1 brakes were totally and completely inadequate, I could not lock them up/engage ABS. If chewbacca says he can engage the ABS with an LS1 swap I'd do that, it's cheap. I've read off and on about brake fade/caliper spread on the road course with the LS1 brakes, it's the only reason I suggested the C5as a minimum. I'm sure chewbacca could give more info on the LS1 brakes since he actually has them.

Every car is different, the build tolerances on these cars are a bit loose. The best bet is to get the wheels and tires, make the measurements and then order a spacer accordingly. With a little bit of work they will fit.

Ya, the Sumis are about 1-1.5" skinnier than say a BFG G-Force KD in the 315/35/17 size.

On the front

and on the rear

and running them on the front at an auto-x event just to see how they would work.

First of all, again Thanks a lot guys for helping this newbie

So I should lower the car and get the new shocks first then worry about wheels. Shoulda thought of that myself (newb)

But since I have all you folks attention . . . My car will be a DD in the summer and maybe someday I'll get to a road course But does this sound like a good starting point as far as suspension goes?

This kit
http://www.stranoparts.com/partdetai...ID=0&ModelID=4

and then UMI 3-point tubular SFC's and a shock tower brace?

Then when I get some more doe saved up I'll work on the 18x11's

Thanks a lot again Guys

get the 4/4 koni's, the double adj. panhard rod. I have them and am so glad i got them instead of the 4/3. The extra adj. on the panhard rod arm is real nice, talk to sam strano before you buy his parts. He will never steer you wrong.

You will be glad you did. The 3pt sfc's are nice, i may ditch my bmr's for them. Good move there, if you havent ordered the parts yet dont get the strut tower brace. Find one used or on ebay. They only have a small effect and for the money they cost its not worth it.

A front sway bar would provide 10 times the benefit of a stb. But then you need to get a rear matching bar to even things up. So find a used or cheap ebay stb and save for the sway bars.

You don't need SFCs. They won't hurt but you honestly don't need them. Really. I cut mine off two years ago and can scarcely tell the difference. Yes they made a HUGE difference when I installed them but I was also on horrendous shocks.

The STB is not needed for a 4th gen and is next to useless. Engineery type people have instrumented their braces and found that almost no load goes through the shock towers. Once again, I couldn't tell any difference with mine before or after installation. That component was also removed. Permanently.

You may or may not need a rear bar upgrade with the larger front bar. It depends on how the balance of the car turns out. In other words, it's not an automatic thing and will depend on what is done to the rest of the car. While I currently have a larger rear bar, at one time I was running the stocker because that's what the car's setup liked at the time.

Talk to Sam.
