I just purchased some chrome Z06 rims real GM production so real GM size the other day, and am coming across a few question. I have heard both that you don't need to mod. the rear wheel wells and you do need to mod it to make it fit with no rub...whcich is it?? Also i have heard this combo of the 17 in front and 18 in rear makes the car look bad, but lowering helps this...if i lower will i ahev to mod more to make wheels fit...and lastly what are the best tires i should get to fit the rims type and size would be very helpful... Thanks

You probably have to do some clearancing in the inner fender at the front of the tire. My 18x9.5 rear C5 wheels were pretty close to the inner fenders, I clearanced them a bit with a BFH. 01-04 ZO6's come with 265/45/17 front and 295/35/18 rear Goodyear Eagle F1 tires. They are pretty pricey though new, they could cost you as much as your wheels or more for a set of 4. A good alternative is the Kuhmo Exsta MX tires, I have them up front on mine and picked up a pair of rear F1 tires off ebay with some miles on them. I've seen some complete sets of Z06 tires recently on Ebay too with low miles for around $600.
